During 2020, the increase in Muriel’s production and the development of ever new fashion items have led to an exponential necessity of tensile tests for quality control, with an ever-increasing commitment of specialized resources. For this reason, together with the Mesdan company, LeMur has developed the first automatic machine to test the tensile properties of elastic yarns unwound from several bobbins, two novelties in one. The idea of an automatic measurement instrument was born from the need to reduce test times and increase repeatability which, with the use of a manually operated instrument by different operators, was not optimal. In addition, the test automatism allows continuous analysis simultaneous with the production, in order to guarantee quality and uniformity.
In mid-July 2021 Mesdan’s innovative “2518 Autodyn 3 Plus” was installed in the LeMur quality control laboratory and the first comparative tests began with the manual instrument in use, with the aim of switching to the main use of the automatic tensile testing machine.
