Our passion is inspired by the specific history of our area: Ala, a community that became famous all over Europe for its silk, destined for the Hapsburg courts, from the late Renaissance until the advent of modern yarns.

A GREAT HISTORY
ALAFIL IS BORN
We opened Alafil, our plant in Ala, Trentino, specialising in production of covered yarns developed using the best technologies on the market at the time.
THE ARRIVAL OF FEIN-ELAST
We grew and improved our skills, thanks to the arrival of the Austrian group Fein-Elast, which transformed Alafil into Fein-Elast Italia. We already stood out on the market for the quality of our yarn and the assistance provided to our customers.
MURIEL PATENT
We registered a world-wide patent for our silicone spinning technology. Our unique production technology combines silicone extrusion with yarn spinning.
START-UP OF THE PILOT SPINNING PLANT
We implemented "In House" an innovative idea for extrusion of ultra-fine silicone yarns.
THE NEW LEMUR ADVENTURE
The Fein-Elast group left the company, which was renamed LeMur and began its new adventure under an all-Italian management.
INDUSTRIAL PLANT
Along with our production of covered yarns, we created Muriel, a revolutionary new line of ultra-fine silicone yarns offering incredible performance in a variety of fields, from medicine to food, sports and the automotive industry.
INCREASED PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY
We completed the modernisation of the plant with the addition of new-generation machinery, increasing its productive capacity to 24,000 spindles.
2020
GREEN ENERGY
We took on an even more concrete commitment to protecting the planet through our work, eliminating all CO2 emissions from our production lines, recycling totally the packaging and reducing scrap.
NEW SPINNING PLANT
We implemented a new “In-House” spinning plant with double the productive capacity of the previous one and the latest new automation systems.
SOLAR ENERGY
We invest in a photovoltaic system with an annual output of approximately 1 GWh, as well as in energy efficiency improvements for our 7,000-square-meter warehouse. This is a concrete step toward reducing our reliance on external energy sources and making our growth more sustainable, both environmentally and economically.
WINDING AUTOMATION
We install the first robotic winder machine with automatic bobbin change. This innovation is designed to reduce the impact of human labor on operations while simultaneously improving process continuity, efficiency, and quality.
RESPONSIBLE MOBILITY
We are extending our commitment beyond production by installing our first electric vehicle charging stations and replacing our company fleet with plug-in hybrid vehicles. For us, sustainability means ensuring consistency between industrial facilities, infrastructure, and everyday practices.
AN EXPANDING MODEL
We increase our photovoltaic production to 1.2 GWh per year, expand our fleet of robotic winder machines, and launch a company bike-sharing program featuring electric bicycles and an in-house developed smart charging station. This marks a clear direction: innovating processes, improving the workplace, and growing LeMur in an increasingly advanced way.
