On April 29th, 2025, LeMur Srl was invited as innovative and forward-thinking company to the final event of the TexTech Startup Challenge, an initiative promoted by the City of Mönchengladbach — long recognized as the beating heart and strategic hub of Germany’s technical textile industry — to foster collaboration between companies in the textile sector.
The event was organized by 1stMOVER Management Consulting GmbH and the Business Development Corporation Mönchengladbach.
The TexTech Startup Challenge is an innovation platform that brings together startups and established textile companies to jointly shape the future of the textile value chain. Launched by the City of Mönchengladbach, the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between agile startups and seasoned industry leaders both in the Mönchengladbach area and beyond.
The morning program began with company presentations: Director Thomas Klotz had the opportunity to present to a large audience of textile professionals the range of silicone-based elastic yarns under the registered brand muriel ® , produced by LeMur Srl using an innovative spinning technology protected by international patents.
These advanced elastic solutions significantly outperform traditional elastomers, offering exceptional properties such as resistance to UV rays, steam, and chemicals, as well as tolerance to high temperatures, excellent flame resistance, and a unique combustion behavior.
These characteristics make the muriel ® line particularly suitable for complex applications in technical and protective apparel, the automotive industry, and light management systems.
Based on the morning presentations, the afternoon featured one-to-one meetings between companies, during which joint solutions were explored and concrete cooperation opportunities were developed. LeMur Srl, together with partner KRALL + ROTH GmbH, focused on two key topics:
- Development ofUV-resistantand flame-retardant elastic yarns for self-supporting textile structures
- Creation of new solutions to improve durability and UV resistance of fabrics for outdoor applications
During the evening event, which marked the culmination of this promising exchange of ideas, the first results of these collaborations were presented.
LeMur Srl expresses its sincere thanks to the organizers and all participants, highlighting the high level of commitment and innovation demonstrated throughout the challenge.
