Muriel ^®-lux aims to bring Innovation in the way we view safety for technical and sports clothing. This new Muriel yarn can absorb and emit light when it is dark. Safety, especially during nighttime and in dark places, has always been a priority aiming to safeguards human life. In the current market the prevalent solutions to this issue are batteries with LED-Strips or reflective materials. One issue which electronic based product face is the preclusion of movement it causes the user, and the added weight while the reflective materials rely on the light emission of other devices to be seen.

To be able to achieve a product which allows the user mobility, comfort and visibility we have developed a luminescent elastic silicone yarn: Muriel ^®-lux.

This special yarn retains all the qualities of Muriel ^® : it is extremely elastic, possesses a natural grip, it is resistant to various environments and high temperature. Its elasticity is long-lasting and resists to outdoor use, environmental exposure, sweat contact, intensive exercise and frequent washing. Moreover, thanks to the added advantage of the photoluminescence, it can absorb light and glow in the dark in different colors, light emission intensity and duration.

Muriel ^®-lux can be used on different sport and technical items like: shirts, shorts, hat, gloves, shoes, jacket and more. It can be inserted directly during the production process to create shapes that shine in the dark and move with the body’s movements. It can improve the current solution of high-visibility fabrics based on reflective surface, with the integration of a continuous light-emission source because of the higher visibility, especially when the light is very low or absent, can be guaranteed.
